Certified Expressive Arts Therapist and Artist based in Vancouver

Hello there, nice to meet you!

About me:
My love of art began as a child. I was quiet and shy, so art was my voice. Expression through art brought me much joy and peace, and became a powerful outlet for my emotions.  After graduating from a fine arts high school in Tel- Aviv, I studied at the Vancouver Film School, followed by many years working  as a graphics artist and animator in the animation industry. In that same time, I became a mom of two and settled in Vancouver BC.
While attending a local arts festival, I found myself inspired to reconnect with my passion for fine arts. Ecstatically, I dove back into the world of paint and canvas, and created an immense amount of art. Pieces of me wanted to speak up and express themselves through my art. I felt a renewed sense of freedom and felt driven to make big changes in my life. I left my career in animation, seeking new ways to express creatively, my journey in personal healing had begun.
With time, I found myself creating more and more art. I even took part as an artist in the same festivals which had inspired me!  During these events I connected with, and had moving conversations with local festival attendees from all walks of life.  It became clear to me that through art there was potential for any individual to find connection, inner healing, and expression. Sharing the healing power of art became a passion which led to an education in Expressive Arts Therapy.

The Therapy:
In my sessions and workshops I use a multi-modal approach, which could include visual art, writing, photography, play, movement and/or drama. Basically, we can explore any way that you are comfortable expressing yourself.
No prior experience with art is necessary, since the focus is on the process - not the final product.
I believe in a client-led experience, in which I meet the individual where they are at, in that moment, gently holding space for their journey.
I am trauma informed, which means I am trained in awareness and responsiveness to individuals affected by the physical and emotional impacts of overwhelming stress and traumatic experiences.

I work with children and adults, in one-on-one sessions or in a group setting.

This is your journey and I am here to support you.

"Ideet radiates warmth, calm and positivity. Her beliefs guide her actions. She gently and capably encouraged members of my class to develop creative awareness, self-expression and critical thinking through engaging, relevant and open-ended experiential, dramatic and artistic play.
It was truly remarkable to see one particular student blossom over the course of the school year with Ideet's weekly one-to-one support. By June he was bursting with confidence and enthusiastically engaged with learning.  Ideet was integral in creating this success.
She honours the artist in each child and the necessary role of art in enabling each and every one of us to reach full potential."
